Tassie Off-Season Offer!

Escape to Tasmania’s winter charm with our ‘Rug Up Ross’ off-season experience!

As seen on Channel 9’s TODAY Show, Rug Up Ross invites visitors to experience one of Tasmania’s quirkiest winter traditions.

Winter in Ross isn’t about hibernating — it’s about rugging up trees. Visitors are invited to enjoy a relaxed, self-guided knitting session, contributing a few stitches (or a little more) to help wrap Ross’ historic elm trees in woolly layers. Whether you arrive with a friend to knit and natter or prefer a quiet moment on your own, this is a simple, welcoming way to slow down and take part in a shared winter ritual.

Pop by and add your own rows to some perfectly unnecessary winter warmth. There’s no pressure and all skill levels are welcome.

Part art, part community mischief — very Ross, very winter.
