At the Tasmanian Wool Centre, we’re proud to support Pink Supporters, a local volunteer group providing practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer across Ross and the Midlands.
Through our ongoing partnership, 10% of every Tasmanian Wool Centre branded product sold in-store and online is donated directly to Pink Supporters, helping them continue their important work in the community.
Pink Supporters began with a simple idea: connection and care. The group was formed after recognising the need for a dedicated support network for people affected by cancer in the Midlands. Today, they support people from Ross, Campbell Town, Oatlands and surrounding communities through regular catch-ups, care packages and practical assistance.
When Pink Supporters hear of someone facing a cancer diagnosis, they reach out with a care package that may include vouchers for groceries, petrol, chemists or a meal out, along with information and support. In their first year, they provided more than $2,000 in vouchers and donated $500 to the Holman Clinic Car, helping local people access treatment.
Recently recognised at the Australia Day Awards for their outstanding contribution to the community, Pink Supporters continues to make a real difference in the lives of local families. The group is also working towards a long-term goal of helping fund a new mammogram machine in Launceston to improve access to screening services in Northern Tasmania.
