Serenity, sandstone and sheep

Ross is often a surprise to travellers who happen on the village by chance. Ross is located 78kms from Launceston and 120kms from Hobart without one traffic light in between! Travel along the Heritage Highway (Midland Highway) and look for the turn off signs (as the village is a short bypass from the Highway).

Upon arrival, call into the Tasmanian Wool Centre for helpful information about what to see and do in Ross and the surrounding area.

The predominantly Georgian architecture, built from local sandstone, together with the tree lined streets of English Elms create a peaceful framework for visitors to admire. As a result of its central location, Ross is an ideal place to stay when visiting Tasmania.

There are many accommodation options in the village together with café’s, bakeries and a local pub at which to eat. Please visit our other website www.visitross.com.au for more details.
